Before the plane could depart, a group of around 20-30 rugby players who were believed to be under the influence of alcohol started to cause trouble, with other passengers on the flight saying they were “intimidated” and “sickened” by the “raucous” group.

One of the men got out of his seat and began harassing a flight attendant. While officers from the Avon and Somerset Constabulary were called to the scene, a police spokesperson said the airline handled the situation and no one was arrested.

The man who was allegedly harassing the attendant was removed from the plane by security personnel and the flight was delayed over 90 minutes.

An easyJet spokesperson released a statement on the incident:

“easyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately, to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.”

“Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behavior onboard. We would like to apologize to passengers for the delay and thank them for their understanding.”
