Men Who Attacked Flight Attendant Given Ban, Facing Criminal Charges

Three men are being investigated by the police and have received a one-year flight ban for assaulting a flight attendant in Vietnam Friday.

According to VnExpress, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam revealed Sunday the reportedly drunk men were filmed kicking a flight attendant after she refused to take a selfie with them.

The incident took place at Tho Xuan Airport and the video has caused public outrage against the men who attacked the defenseless woman, who was identified as Le Thi Giang, an employee of low-cost carrier Vietjet Air.

The suspects were identified by police as 28-year-old Pham Huu An, 34-year-old Le Trung Dung and 41-year-old Le Van Nhi. The three men were at the airport to say goodbye to a friend when they asked Giang to take a picture of the group.

After the attendant took the picture for the men, they asked her to pose for a selfie with them. When Giang refused due to her being at work, the men slapped her and knocked her to the ground before kicking her in the back.

An airlines” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>airport manager tried to step in but was also physically attacked by the men, who were allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time. Security personnel arrived on the scene, placed the men under arrest and took them to a local police station.

Police representatives said they are taking the incident seriously and will impose administrative or criminal punishments once the investigation is completed. A similar incident took place last year, as a Vietnamese man was fined over $300 for hitting a female staff member of Vietjet Air in the face with his bag.
