An American Airlines flight was quarantined Thursday morning at Nashville International Airport due to an ill passenger on board.
Another passenger on the plane was former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
According to Reuters.com, the American flight landed in Nashville after a journey from Los Angeles at 5 a.m. local time and was moved to a remote area of the airport while emergency personnel evaluated the sick passenger.
Huckabee shared a play-by-play of the situation on Twitter:
5 hr red eye flight on @AmericanAir Nashville from LA. On ground for 40 min and now told someone on board is sick & we are being towed to other gate and quarantined until all checked out. Can’t get up to go to bathroom or get off plane. It’s the Russians! I just know it!

An American Airlines spokesperson told The Tennessean the situation was cleared by 7 a.m. local time and everyone was eventually allowed to deplane. The ill passenger was originally medically cleared for the flight, but talked about her illness during the journey and caused concern about exposure.
“For safety, passengers were held by BNA Police until contact was made with the physician to confirm clearance, which it was,” a Nashville Airport spokesperson told Reuters.
