Hungry passengers onboard a Mesa Airlines flight to Houston were treated to a free lunch from the pilot when their flight was delayed for several hours.
The flight, operated by United Express, was delayed leaving Tulsa, Oklahoma, by more than four hours, according to a report on USA Today.
After about two-and-a-half hours, the captain ordered everyone lunch from Fat Guys Burger Bar.
Ultimately, the delayed flight was a win for United Airlines and Mesa Airlines. Passengers praised the good customer service and the captain.
“We’re currently 2.5 hours into a delay leaving Tulsa on @united and our Captain, Matthew just ordered every single person on the plane lunch from Fat Guys Burger Bar,” passenger Sam Walker wrote. “Good people and customer service do still exist!”

United replied: ”Hey, Sam. How awesome! We’re glad to hear the crew took care of you today. We’ll pass along your praise to our teams.”
“We take great pride in our crewmembers and always appreciate passengers’ positive feedback,” Mesa Airlines spokesman Jack Hellie told USA TODAY in a statement.
According to online flight tracking company, FlightAware, the flight arrived in Houston from Tulsa five hours and three minutes late—but at least the passengers were well fed.
