THAI Route: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Khon Kaen, Thailand via Bangkok

Discovering Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam? Extend your travels with a trip to Khon Kaen, located in the northeast part of Thailand, and discover cuisine from the Isan region, which is not commonly found in the United States.

At Khon Kaen’s night market, popular amongst locals, food steals the spotlight; stalls can be found serving up dishes such as Gai Tod and Isan sausage.

A must-see in the region is the ethereal Wat Thung Setthi temple. Its white exterior with blue and gold accents differentiate it from a typical temple and its surrounding lake dotted with water lilies make it a harmonious blend of nature and man-made architecture.

THAI Route: Bangkok, Thailand to Yangon, Myanmar

When visiting Thai hot spots like Bangkok, take advantage of the proximity of Myanmar by flying over to its former capital of Yangon to discover a beautiful, historic city.

Take pictures at one of the many golden pagodas found all over the city, or take in the myriad of alluring colonial-style buildings still standing in the city like the Strand Hotel and the Belmond Governor’s Residence.

THAI Route: Bangkok, Thailand to Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Phnom Penh in Cambodia also makes an excellent extension to a Thai trip. Travelers can drop by the Royal Palace, sprawling with its beautifully colored traditional buildings and its manicured courtyards.

Animal lovers will appreciate a visit to NGO Wildlife Alliance’s Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center also located in Phnom Penh. Here, rare and endangered wildlife that are saved from poachers are nursed back to health before being released back into their natural habitats.

And because the journey is as important as the destination, Thai Airways provides 42 inches of seat pitch in Premium Economy and has been crowned World’s Best Economy Class by airlines-2018/” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>Skytrax, ensuring travelers spend their Asian travel transfers in comfort.
