WOW Air Adds New Flights to India from US

WOW air announced Tuesday it will launch a new route from the United States to India via Iceland this winter.

Starting on December 5, business and leisure travelers in the U.S. will be able to visit Delhi via Indira Gandhi International Airport, with one-way fares starting at $199 and WOW premium seats available for $699.

Service to Delhi will be available from Baltimore/Washington International, Boston Logan International, Chicago O’Hare International, Detroit Metropolitan, Los Angeles International, Newark Liberty International, Pittsburgh International, San Francisco International, and St. Louis Lambert International airports.

“I am thrilled to broaden WOW air’s offerings and bring low fare international flight service to India,” WOW air CEO Skuli Mogensen said in a statement. “We are passionate about continuing our mission of enabling everybody to fly by making international travel accessible and affordable for all and look forward to expanding our global service to provide travelers with the opportunity to see many parts of the globe, whether for business or pleasure.”

Delhi continues to emerge as a popular travel destination due to its heritage sites, including The Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate and the Qutub Minar. The city is also just 125 miles from the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

To fly the new routes, WOW air will use new Airbus A330neo aircraft, which are outfitted with the new WOW premium seats offering at least 37 inches of legroom.
