The Carnival Paradise came to the aid of a sailor off of the coast of Cozumel, Mexico over the weekend, rescuing the mariner from a small ship that was taking on water, according to CruiseHive.com.
The Carnival Cruise Line Fantasy-class ship responded to a distress call Saturday night, deploying a lifeboat to rescue the sailor.
The individual was brought on board the Carnival Paradise and provided with food, water and medical treatment before boarding a Mexican Coast Guard rescue boat and being transported back to land. The sailor was reportedly in good condition.

Carnival Paradise was in the midst of a four-night cruise from Tampa and was returning to Florida at the time of the rescue, having recently departed Cozumel.
Saturday’s rescue comes just one month after the Carnival Fantasy cruise ship rescued nearly two dozen people who were adrift in the Gulf of Mexico. Last year, Royal Caribbean’s Empress of the Seas rescued two sailors who had been trapped at sea in the Caribbean for nearly three weeks.
