CLIA’s #ChooseCruise Month Launches

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is once again highlighting cruise vacations during a monthlong campaign in October, under this year’s banner of #ChooseCruise.

The annual initiative, formerly known as Plan a Cruise Month, will feature the information about cruise travel, deals and promotions, and cruise insights across the industry’s social platforms.

“The #ChooseCruise campaign is a way to highlight the many amazing reasons why travelers should choose a cruise for vacation,” said Cindy D’Aoust, president and CEO of CLIA. “Cruise travel can offer experiences and adventures that are unique to each traveler giving them the chance to check off bucket list items in a fun, carefree way.”

It’s no doubt #ChooseCruise are fulfilling bucket list goals. In fact, 95 percent of travel agents say they’re seeing an uptick in new cruise destinations because travelers are seeking to knock things off of bucket lists. Other reasons cited by travelers are unpacking once, experiencing adventurous activities, seeking pampering and still enjoying a healthy lifestyle at sea or on the rivers.

With more than 27.2 million cruisers expected to embark on a cruise by the end of this year, these travelers can leverage the expertise of a CLIA-certified travel agent to tailor a personalized cruise trip. During #ChooseCruise in October, cruise lines are offering exclusive deals and promotions through CLIA travel agents.

Here are a few of those deals.

MSC Cruises is offering $75 shipboard credit per person (up to $150 total per stateroom) when booking an Aurea experience balcony stateroom or suite on select MSC Seaside sailings between October 2018 and November 2019. Travelers can only earn these benefits by booking through their preferred travel agent.

The Aurea experience includes priority boarding, enhanced stateroom amenities, all-inclusive beverage status throughout the ship, and a variety of wellness features. This includes a 50 percent discount on any fitness classes, free access to the exclusive sun decks, one complimentary massage and spa cocktail, and access to the spa’s thermal area for the duration of the cruise. Finally, Aurea experience guests can dine when they please with the My Time dining option.

Departing every Saturday from PortMiami, MSC Seaside sails year-round seven-night alternating Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. The promotion can be booked Oct. 1-31, 2018.

Seabourn is offering a shipboard credit offer of $200 per suite ($100 per person) on select sailings departing May 1, 2019, through 2020. The shipboard credit is combinable with Seabourn’s current 2018 Set Sail Event, offering a range of benefits including upgrades, air credits, Wi-Fi and more, and may be used across Seabourn’s fleet of ultra-luxury vessels. The deal is available Oct. 1-31, 2018.
