First Cruise Canceled for Navigator of the Seas

Plenty of customers were disappointed as they found out that their Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas cruise was canceled today.

The Navigator of the Seas has been undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade and was meant to sail on February 24, but due to construction delays, Royal Caribbean ultimately had to cancel the cruise.

MORE Cruise Line & Cruise Ship

In a statement to RoyalCaribbeanBlog.com, Royal Caribbean said that the delayed construction was due to “poor weather conditions have affected the progress of the ship’s outer decks.” The ship is receiving its modernizations in Freeport, The Bahamas.

They added, “Although it is important to complete the ship on time, it is most important to ensure that we deliver 100 percent on our promise to provide the memorable experiences our guests enjoy with Royal Caribbean.”

“Any decision that disrupts our guests’ vacations is a difficult one to make, and we realize this is disappointing news. We are providing our guests with compensation for their cruise fare, prepaid onboard amenities and airline cancellation fees. “

In addition to a refund on their cruise fare, prepaid onboard amenities and airline cancellation fees, the cruise line will also gift guests with a future cruise credit.

The cruise line says that the Navigator of the Seas will now return to service on a nine-night Southern Caribbean cruise departing on March 1 from Miami, Florida.

Once completed, the Navigator of the Seas will feature a new pool deck, water slides and dining options.
