Libbie Rice to Serve as Godmother of AmaMora

AmaWaterways has announced that Libbie Rice, co-president of Ensemble Travel Group will serve as Godmother of AmaMora, one of three new ships entering its fleet in 2019, the most since the company’s inception.

Rice will bless the 156-passenger ship alongside AmaWaterways’ executive team and local dignitaries during a Christening ceremony in Lahnstein, Germany the week of July 15, 2019.

AmaMora will begin her inaugural season June 3, 2019, sailing the seven-night Enchanting Rhine and Captivating Rhine itineraries between Basel to Amsterdam. The ship will also sail the festive Christmas Markets on the Rhine itineraries between November 25 and December 23.

“We are delighted to have Libbie join the AmaWaterways family as Godmother of the beautiful AmaMora,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “Libbie is an extraordinary travel professional with incredible knowledge and experience, as well as an avid world traveler, which makes her the perfect choice to fill this exciting role. We’re looking forward to celebrating with her on board next year!”

Rice has served in various positions in the travel industry for more than 15 years, including key roles in customer relationship management and revenue management for major airlines and hotel chains. She has earned a reputation in the industry for being a forward-thinking leader and received accolades for her expertise in quantitative marketing, revenue management, customer relationship management and information, as well as social media. Rice has lived in Australia, Belgium and Hong Kong, and couples her passion for travel with adventure, having summited Mount Kilimanjaro, bungee jumped with Ensemble members in Whistler and hang-glided in Rio de Janiero. Rice has served as co-president of Ensemble Travel Group since January 2011.

“I’m deeply honored to have been chosen to serve as the Godmother of this very special ship,” said Rice. “Travel is such a rewarding experience, and AmaWaterways is a true leader in delivering extraordinary river cruise vacations. This ship will provide guests with the opportunity to create memorable experiences to last a lifetime, and I could not be more proud to be a part of that legacy.”

The sister ship to AmaLea, AmaMora (pictured right) offers a total of 78 spacious staterooms, almost all featuring AmaWaterways’ signature twin balconies.

Guests looking to immerse themselves in the local culture will enjoy an extensive menu of up to 20 complimentary tours during a seven-night cruise traveling between Amsterdam and Basel. Highlights include the spectacular Rhine Gorge and Special Interest tours like the unique Lahneck Castle visit by candlelight.
