Lindblad Expeditions is introducing shorter itineraries to the Galapagos. It’s a first-time move for the line, which has 50 years of experience in the destination.
The new Wild Galapagos Escape itinerary departs twice weekly aboard the 48-guest National Geographic Islander. It includes five days in the archipelago, with a pre-cruise overnight at the boutique Hotel del Parque in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Guests can add another night post-voyage at no additional charge.
Dr. Sylvia Earle, marine biologist and explorer-in-residence at the National Geographic Society, will join the first two voyages as a guest speaker. Earl is the former chief scientist for NASA and founder of SEAlliance, which supports global initiatives to restore the oceans. She will be on the November 24 and 29, 2018 voyages.
Additional departures for Wild Galapagos Escape take place in April, May, August, September and October of 2019.
Additionally, a nine-day Wild Galapagos & Peru Escape includes Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and Cusco. Departures take place in December 2018, as well as May, September and November of 2019.
Lindblad will provide complimentary roundtrip charter flights from Ecuador to Galapagos for guests booking Wild Galapagos Escape or Wild Galapagos & Peru Escape on departures in the above-noted months.
The line is also offering free roundtrip air from Miami to Guayaquil for guests traveling aboard National Geographic Islander and National Geographic Endeavour II on select 10-day tours through Dec. 2018. Business Class upgrades are available for $500 on select departures. Both offers are subject to availability and must be ticketed by Lindblad.
New for 2019 aboard all Galapagos voyages is a complimentary bar (except for certain premium brands) plus one hour of free Wi-Fi per day per person.
