Lindblad To Build New Expedition Vessel

Expedition travel company Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc. announced today that it will build a new polar expedition ship. The new vessel is set for a 2021 delivery. It represents the next phase of fleet expansion for the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic partnership.

The two entities work together to offer expedition programs that promote conservation and sustainable tourism practices globally. Voyages focus on education and feature leading scientists, naturalists and researchers.

In July 2017, Lindblad debuted the National Geographic Quest in Alaska. In December 2018, the line will introduce National Geographic Venture.

This is the next step of our long-term growth strategy to capitalize on the expanding demand for high quality adventure travel. By marrying additional capacity with a dedicated and growing loyal customer base and fifty years of experience, we will be able to build upon our proven track record of delivering unparalleled expeditions to the world’s most remarkable destination,” said Sven-Olof Lindblad, president and CEO of the line.
