Princess Cruises is rolling out an immersive cultural experience on its Caribbean sailings this summer. Dubbed “Rhythm of the Caribbean,” it will add a Caribbean flair to cuisine, cocktails, entertainment and more.
“We passionately opened our hearts and minds to the diverse local experiences to design ‘Rhythm of the Caribbean’ ultimately allowing our guests to be inspired by the wonders of the Caribbean and instill a passion for discovering new cultures and destinations,” said Rai Caluori, Princess Cruises executive vice president of guest experience and product development.
In the works are onboard Caribbean Festivals, in association with Princess Cruises’ “Festivals of the World.” They’ll include sail-away parties, themed events, pirate nights and musical performances.
Authentic Island Cuisine will feature a fusion of Caribbean classics, such as Jamaican jerk chicken, creole black mussels, Puerto Rican mofongo and pineapple crème brulée. And a Colorful Caribbean Cocktails program will utilize local ingredients and feature special events, such as rum tastings.
Parrots in the Piazza will bring guests up close to tropical parrots and macaws, in residence in the ship’s Atrium. While Stories from Deep Sea Explorers provides the chance to hear from real-life treasure hunters and shark divers.
“Rhythm of the Caribbean” launches aboard Caribbean Princess in May 2018 and will extend to additional ships for the upcoming fall/winter Caribbean season.
