Scenic Announces New 2019/20 Scenic Eclipse Itineraries

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has added new itineraries to its Scenic Eclipse discovery yacht itineraries. The 228-passenger Scenic Eclipse features all-verandah suites ranging in size from 345 to 2,659 square feet. Amenities include ten dining options, a spa, gym and yoga studio; indoor and outdoor plunge pools and butler service. The ship holds the highest passenger ship ice class rating and also carries two six-passenger helicopters and a six-passenger submarine.

Scenic Eclipse will debut this August. The line has also announced that a second yacht, Scenic Eclipse II will join the fleet in 2020.

New discovery yacht itineraries include a 21-day Northwest Passage exploration; a 13-day Russia’s White Sea exploration and two journeys along the east coast of North America.

Departing in August 2020, the Northwest Passage excursion travels an Atlantic-to-Pacific route long thought unpassable. The cruise begins in Copenhagen, travels along the coast of Greenland and through the Canadian Arctic Islands to Nome, Alaska. Guests will encounter 24-hour sunlight, meet indigenous communities and hear lectures from the expert Discovery Team. They can also kayak amongst the icebergs, for the chance to spot whales, polar bears and Arctic foxes.

Another new itinerary will venture to Russia’s White Sea on the country’s remote northwest coast. Surrounded on three sides, it’s a southern inlet of the Barents Sea. The cruise departs from Tromsø, Norway’s northernmost port and calls at the North Cape and Murmansk before heading to the Russian Arctic.

Closer to home, the line will also offer 10- and 20-day sailings along North America’s East Coast in September of 2019. The 10-day cruise departs New York City and heads south, calling at Baltimore, Norfolk, Wilmington (NC) and Charleston before concluding in the Bahamas. The 20-day itinerary begins in Halifax, Canada and reaches five Canadian ports including Prince Edward Island and Lunenburg as well as the Boston and Martha’s Vineyard.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours also operates the river cruise lines Scenic and Emerald Waterways.
