TUI to Offer River Cruises in 2020

TUI, the parent company of Marella Cruises, will be jumping into the river cruise game in 2020.

The company is launching TUI River Cruises and has bought three river cruise ships to lead the way on their adult-only cruises which will include excursions, tours, sightseeing and bike tours.

MORE Cruise Line & Cruise Ship

The cruise ships will include private balcony suites, a la carte dining, casual dining, social venues and tips and service charges included in the cruise fare. Additionally, guests can take advantage of 1 GB of Wi-Fi per cabin per week and airport transfers to and from the ship, as well as a £120 credit (or $157 USD) that can be put toward shore excursion bookings. Barbecues and nightly entertainment will be included in the onboard programming.

Itineraries for TUI River Cruises will go on sale on April 25 and will include 19 itineraries for 2020 on the Danube, Rhine, Moselle and Main Rivers. Travelers can choose full-board with drinks or without.

TUI UK & I cruise managing director Chris Hackney said: “We’re incredibly excited to be moving into the river cruise market, as we’re always looking for new opportunities to offer our customers even more variety when it comes to choosing the perfect holiday.”

“Our river cruises will really take this to the next level as customers are able to personalise their package, whether that’s board type, cabins, excursions and even cocktail choice.”

“We’re very proud to be known for the friendliest service, exciting itineraries and great value for money when it comes to our ocean cruises and we look forward to bringing this to TUI River Cruises,” he added.
