U by Uniworld Announces New Itinerary and Excursions for 2019

WHY IT RATES: Cruisers can celebrate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, spend a few nights in Paris, enjoy rooftop BBQs, karaoke nights, giant board games and more with U by Uniworld’s new 2019 excursions.—Jessica Zickefoose, TravelPulse Associate Editor

U by Uniworld, the first river cruise dedicated a new generation of adult travelers, is introducing a brand new itinerary in Northern France on The B ship, along with new excursions and onboard amenities across the fleet in 2019.

“We’ve introduced river cruising to a completely new segment of travelers this year with the launch of U by Uniworld,” said Ellen Bettridge, President & CEO of Uniworld. “Our first year was all about disrupting the industry—quite literally ‘testing the waters’ as we debuted a never before seen product, receiving awards and rave reviews from guests, travel partners and media alike.”

Bettridge added, “Entering into our second season, we’re following the ever-evolving consumer trends and listening to feedback from guests as we seek new ways to push the limit on the river cruise experience from the launch of a brand new itinerary to enhanced excursions to new onboard activities. We look forward to continuing the buzz and success of our inaugural season as we continue momentum into 2019.”

Beginning April 21, 2019, The B’s new 8-day itinerary, Northern France at a Glance, will sail along the Seine River with stops in Paris, Vernon, Les Andelys, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Rouen and Caudebec-en-Caux. The itinerary will begin and end on Sundays, allowing for guests to spend a Friday and Saturday night in Paris.

Just in time for the 75th anniversary of D-Day, U will take guests to Normandy’s beaches to celebrate the historic event with a stop at the American Cemetery for a special memorial ceremony.

Other new immersive excursions offered on this sailing include following U’s chef to Rouen’s fresh local market to choose ingredients for dinner; climbing to the top of the étretat’s legendary cliffs for breathtaking views of France; and tea time at Château du Champ de Bataille.

Rates start at $1,999 per person including accommodations, daily farm-to-ship meals, select offshore excursions, two dedicated U hosts, onboard activities, rooftop fitness classes and more.

The A, which was recently named “One of the World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine, will offer its guests new ‘U Time’ excursion options along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers in 2019.

For example, guests can paddleboard, canoe or swim in the Ilz River near the Danube bridge; hike through Regensburg or to Germania Monument; visit World War II sites in Linz; take a walking tour through Budapest to discover hidden gems and taste Hungarian street food from a local market; and much more.

Rates for The A’s sailings start at $1,799 per person.

In addition to U’s popular inclusions, such as mixology classes, silent discos, paint & wine, drum circles and sunrise rooftop yoga, guests will also enjoy new onboard activities such as rooftop BBQs, karaoke nights, giant board games, themed parties and more. For an additional cost, guests can camp on the rooftop, complete with a nightcap cocktail and breakfast picnic basket; experience a U Wine Talk; or purchase a romance package for a special occasion.

In celebration of the 2019 release, U by Uniworld is offering travelers a 10% Early Booking Discount, if booked and paid-in-full by September 31, 2018. For more information or to book, visit ubyuniworld.com or call 800-883-8785.
