Windstar Announces New Caribbean and Latin Itineraries for 2019 and 2020

Windstar Cruises has announced its 2019 and 2020 Caribbean and Latin America sailings. The collection includes first-time port calls in Mexico, Honduras, Grand Cayman, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.

Cruises will range in duration from seven to 56 days, with more than 150 departure dates during the 2019-2020 season. New in 2020 is an extended cruise aboard the 310-passenger Wind Surf, the world’s largest sailing ship.

Star Collector: Grand Caribbean Adventure travels throughout the Caribbean’s Greater and Lesser Antilles and Latin America. It features Wind Surf’s first visit to the Panama Canal, with a journey through the Gatun Locks and Gatun Lakes.

“At Windstar we are on a mission to deliver the most authentic destination experiences in small ship cruising and this Grand Caribbean sailing is a perfect example of how we do things 180 degrees from ordinary,” said Windstar president John Delaney. “No other cruise line has ever offered such an expansive sailing in this part of the world, visiting 38 ports and 27 countries. And the fact that we offer this on the world’s largest sailing ship with our open bridge policy, complimentary water sports marina and Signature Beach Barbecues will ensure our guests experience the very best of these beautiful warm water destinations.”

Windstar’s Caribbean and Latin America cruises also include Sea of Cortez, Coastal, Canal, and Caribbean Sea voyages.

“The beaches, wildlife, and rainforests are a sure draw, but the way we plan and approach itineraries is what sets Windstar apart. We discover the most authentic cultural experiences a destination has to offer so that adventurous, imaginative travelers can come away with a different view and an enhanced understanding of their ports of call,” added Delaney.

Windstar will deploy four of their six ships in the Caribbean and Latin America during 2019 and 2020. The ships are able to access tiny harbors, such as Man-O-War Bay in Tobago. Many itineraries include late night and overnight stays.

The entire Windstar fleet offers complimentary watersports and trained Sports Coordinators. Guests can enjoy stand-up paddle boarding, waterskiing, water trampolines and other activities from the ships’ unique Water Sports Platform.

New shore excursions are also planned for the 2019-2020 season. They include a private chocolate-making tour in St. Lucia where guests can make their own dark chocolate bar. Another new offering is a power cruise to Mustique, a 14-acre island off Bequia.
