World’s Best Cruise Lines of 2019

U.S. News & World just released their sixth annual rankings for the world’s best cruise lines.

After evaluating 169 ships and 17 cruise lines, they broke down the winners by six categories: the Best Cruise Lines for Money, Families and Couples, as well as the Best Luxury Cruise Lines and the Best Cruise Lines of the Mediterranean and Caribbean.

Disney Cruise Line took first place for the Best Cruise Lines for Families and the Best Cruise Lines of the Caribbean, while Seabourn Cruise Line won the Best Luxury Cruise Line and the Best Cruise of the Mediterranean.

To get the most bang for your buck, U.S. News & World chose Celebrity Cruise Line. Couples will be most happy with Viking Ocean Cruises, according to the list.

Royal Caribbean Cruises came in second in the Money and Families categories, while Azmara Club Cruises came in third for the Couples and Mediterranean categories.

Costa Cruises ranked near the bottom among all the categories.

Viking, Celebrity, and Seabourn were ranked among the top three for most of the six categories, so travelers who don’t fit in a single category or just want an overall good cruise might consider these.

To determine the rankings, U.S. News & World Report considered expert evaluations of each cruise line’s ship quality, health assessments, reputations among travelers, price class, and itinerary offerings.
