Heading to New York City for the Holidays? Why the NH Collection is my new favorite NYC hotel.

New York City is back. In a big way.

I recently had the opportunity to fly on a seaplane with Tailwind Air from DC to NYC and reached out to my friends at the NH Collection to see this new hotel. Located at 38th and Madison, I knew it would be a wonderful stay the second I walked through the doors. Jordan instantly greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. The beautiful lobby was buzzing with activity, cool music was playing, the interior design reminiscent of “Mad Men” was stunning and Phil the bartender made the perfect Gin and Tonic. As I looked around and felt that familiar New York City energy, I was so happy my favorite city in the world was back.

What is fantastic about the NH Collection is the location. Close to Grand Central, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, The Morgan Library (a gem of a museum) easy access to La Guardia and JFK Airport, fabulous restaurants (Zuma is 15 steps away) the best shopping in the world, (Macy’s is not far). You are close to everything, yet when you are in the hotel it feels like a sanctuary in the city.

After all the shopping, eating and sightseeing, the rooms at the NH Collection offer elegant, spacious and well thought out amenities. A chilled bottle of Prosecco was waiting for me as I unpacked from my quick trip up from DC. The NH Collection has done an impressive job with the design of their rooms. Spacious bathrooms, comfy robes and slippers, espresso machine, complimentary water, blackout shades and generous shower amenities (the lotion is divine!).

Slipping on my slippers and heading out to my balcony overlooking the Empire State Building, I poured myself a glass of Prosecco and toasted the city I love so much. Hearing the buzz of the city, I smiled and looked around at the breathtaking view. New York City is back, and a stay at the NH collection is the best place to witness the revival.
