ALG Will Operate Four Hotels in Spain

Apple Leisure Group (ALG) and Grupo Inversor Hesperia (GIHSA) have formed a new alliance and announced that ALG will operate its four resorts in Spain with the AMResorts brands.

GIHSA recently terminated its management agreement with NH and will hand over worldwide sales and marketing of the properties to some of AMResorts most popular brands, starting in 2019.

The four hotels are currently operated as Hesperia properties. Two will change to two will operate under the adults-only Secrets Resorts & Spas brand, and the other two under the family-friendly brands: Dreams Resorts & Spas and Amigo Resorts.

Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa will open in March 2019. Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa and Amigo Fuerteventura Resort will follow in May 2019. In November 2019, Dreams Lanzarote Resort & Spa will debut as a five-star property.

The properties will not operate as AMResorts’ traditional all-inclusive. In order to meet the expectations of travelers in these destinations, the hotels will offer several different food and beverage plans, including bed and breakfast plans, half-board and all-inclusive options.

GIHSA is investing more than $20 million in the brand conversion and is committed to renewing the four properties raising their product quality to AMResorts’ brand standards.

“We are highly satisfied with the agreement reached with ALG, which raises our hotels’ profile to another level, and will allow us to attract new clients from around the world through the AMResorts’ brands,” said Jordi Ferrer, CEO of GIHSA. “With this alliance, we officially start a new path within GIHSA’s growth and expansion plan.”
