MGM Resorts International announced Tuesday it has agreed to a multi-year partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) that will make the resort company the official gaming partner of the NBA and WNBA.
During an announcement ceremony featuring NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and MGM Resorts CEO Jim Murren, the companies revealed the deal was the NBA’s first with a sports betting operator in the United States.
The partnership will allow MGM Resorts to use NBA and WNBA data and branding across land-based and digital sports betting offerings, as well as work together to create a series of integrations across NBA platforms.

“As the landscape for sports betting in the U.S. continues to evolve at a rapid pace, MGM Resorts is a proven gaming leader for us to work with on this groundbreaking partnership,” Silver said in a statement. “Our collaboration will result in the best possible gaming and entertainment experience for consumers through the use of accurate, real-time NBA and WNBA data, and our collective efforts to maintain and enhance the integrity of our games.”
“The NBA has always been an innovator at the forefront of sports evolution, and MGM Resorts is thrilled to partner with the league to revolutionize sports betting in the United States,” Murren said. “Integrating the NBA’s assets and having official NBA data showcased across the MGM Resorts platforms will provide us with a distinct advantage and instill more confidence in knowing that our data is directly from the NBA.”
In addition, MGM Resorts has agreed to promote the NBA across its sports betting platforms while having the MGM brand promoted across the league’s digital assets, including NBA TV, NBA.com, the NBA App and NBA social media platforms.
MGM Resorts and the NBA have worked together in the past, including the resort company purchasing the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces in 2017 and being the title partner of the NBA Summer League for the last two years.
