Summer in the City: New York Hotels Package Urban Fun

When the days grow longer and the temperature rises, New York City visitors and residents alike tend to take refuge elsewhere. Traditional summer beach haunts on Long Island or throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic make their siren call, but for those sticking it out in the city, there is plenty to entertain.

This summer, several hotels in Manhattan have put packages together for exactly those guests. Whether it’s getting out on the water, glamping indoors, or simply taking in the best sites of the city when the crowds are more sparse, New York summer nights couldn’t be more enticing.

SIp & Sail with Conrad New York

For those with a nautical streak, Conrad New York has partnered with Manhattan by Sail to offer guests a sailing excursion on New York Harbor. Guests will stay in a Hudson River Suite or Luxury Suite, overlooking the water, then spend two hours sailing on the harbor taking in views of the Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan skyline, and Ellis Island, complete with Conrad-branded captain’s hat. Another included New York tradition is Sunday Brunch, where guests can dine on quiche, croissants, bagels, lox, and an open Prosecco bar.

Package rates start at $509 per night and are available through October 1.

A “Beary” Fun Summer at Millennium Broadway New York Times Square

Families with children can explore the city together with this Times Square hotel’s scavenger hunt package curated by Ask Alfred, the hotel’s children’s concierge. Children and parents can work together to unlock clues to six different Manhattan locations for a special New York prize.

In addition to the scavenger hunt, the package includes a branded cinch bag with an Ask Alfred Teddy Bear, postcards, stickers, gummy bears for snacking, and a Melissa & Doug coloring book and crayons.

Package rates start at $259 and can be booked through September 3. Additional Ask Alfred amenity sets can be purchased for $15, $2 of which is donated to The Dream Factory, granting dreams for critically and chronically ill children.

Experience The Best of Manhattan at The Langham

Guests staying in a Deluxe Room or higher for at least two nights can book this package, which includes valet parking, a signature cookie amenity, and two adult CityPASS tickets, which are good for a variety of New York’s most famed attractions, from the Empire State Building to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Guests can post photos to Instagram using the hashtag #LanghamLovesManhattan to receive credits during the same stay or a future stay toward in-room dining or the hotel’s Chuan Body + Soul spa.

Package rates vary with room type booked, and this package is available through August 31.

Camp “In” at The Peninsula

Sometimes you just have to pitch a tent, right in your hotel room. For those traveling with kids this summer, the Peninsula New York offers the Camp Peninsula Package as an add-on to an existing reservation. The stay starts with a s’mores amenity and Camp Peninsula tent pitched right inside the room. Young guests will also enjoy a picnic lunch once per stay by the hotel’s indoor pool, their own robes and slippers at turn down, and a hotel scavenger hunt.

The Camp Peninsula package can be added for $150 per room for a maximum of two children.

Summer Savor at The Plaza

Guests who book the Summer Savor package and present proof of purchase from three or more attractions from a designated list can receive a bill credit of up to $250 per stay. The attractions include New York’s most popular, such as Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the New York Botanical Garden. The Summer Savor promotion runs through September 3.
