Further solidifying its position as a noteworthy destination for travelers wanting it all, Atlantis, Paradise Island is proud to announce the world premiere of “Showtime at the Pink Flamingo,” developed in partnership with the creative masterminds behind international sensations BLANC de BLANC and LIMBO.
This thrilling new show will be the centerpiece of the resort’s swanky Spring Festival, Twilight Electric. Every Wednesday through Sunday, beginning Saturday, April 13, Atlantis guests and other adventure-seeking visitors to Nassau and Paradise Island can expect to see and experience the unexpected as they enter a whimsical and vibrant entertainment playground under the stars, along the magnificent Nassau Harbour.
The festival offers entertainment for visitors of every age and pays homage to the cultural landscape of The Bahamas, its authentic cuisine, deep-rooted artistry, and soul-stirring music.
Atlantis has a rich history of one-of-a-kind experiences for multi-generational travelers. Twilight Electric will tantalize the senses as a technical spectacle of color, music and frivolity collide with local performers and culinary talent to create an evening of delight, glamour and total surprise.
A dedicated craft market featuring Bahamian artisans and a beach boardwalk-style culinary showcase will add to the excitement. From the moment guests enter the eclectic entertainment playground, they will be immediately transported into a fantasy world that goes beyond the norm, sparks the imagination and delights the soul.
The ultimate attraction of Twilight Electric will be the must-see cabaret show, “Showtime at the Pink Flamingo.” Intriguing and breathtaking, this intoxicating theatrical production will be performed harbourside in a traditional Spiegeltent.
It features a talented cast of international entertainers ranging from burlesque dancers and acrobatic artists to classically trained vocalists. Representative of the glitz, glamour and romance of the 1920s with a neon futuristic twist, the eclectic show will take place each evening at 8:00 p.m. and requires tickets to enter.
“Atlantis continues to evolve as a travel destination for all ages. With rich cultural traditions, the cuisine, music and art of The Bahamas have become some of the many highlights of the resort experience. The magical playground of Twilight Electric will speak to our ‘Bahamas at Heart’ mantra as we merge international entertainers with local talent and tradition in creative and fantastical ways. We are proud to host the international premiere of ‘Showtime at the Pink Flamingo,’ an over-the-top performance that you won’t want to miss,” says Audrey Oswell, President and Managing Director of Atlantis, Paradise Island.
“For the first time in The Bahamas, a glittering two-story Spiegeltent will activate the beautiful Nassau Harbour and provide visitors to Nassau and Paradise Island the opportunity to celebrate beneath the stars—just in case our vast array of marine life, educational programs and five miles of beautiful, white sandy beaches aren’t enough.”
In addition to nightly “Showtime at the Pink Flamingo” performances, festival-goers will be drawn to the harbourside beach boardwalk, which will feature culinary stations comprised of traditional carnival treats and authentic local Bahamian delicacies like conch salads and conch fritters.
A curated selection of Atlantis restaurants will have their own pop-up culinary booths during Twilight Electric’s ten-week run and, for the cocktail and spirit enthusiasts, hand-crafted libations ranging from Sky Juice and Rum Punch to signature festival cocktails featuring locally-infused flavors will also be available.
Art, theater and culture enthusiasts will be surprised and delighted as they come face to face with talented sideshow performers, including fire-breathing entertainers, limbo dancers and trapeze artists. The iconic Junkanoo tradition of The Bahamas will be represented by various dance and music troupes from Nassau & Paradise Island, famous for their cowbell and goatskin drum-rhythmic sounds and elaborate, colorful costumes.
Additionally, local musicians will take the stage and entertain festival goers with pop-up performances. The festival’s one-of-a-kind artisan marketplace, designed for shoppers and souvenir seekers alike, will offer beautiful Bahamian created paintings, sculptures, jewelry and decorative accessories.
Twilight Electric and “Showtime at the Pink Flamingo,” are open to Atlantis guests, Nassau and Paradise Island visitors and residents of The Bahamas.
