How to Feel Prepared Before You Go on Your Beach Vacation

Ready for the feeling of sand between your toes, a breeze on your back, and the sun warming you up? Nothing can beat a classic beach vacation – but only if you go into them prepared to have the time of your life. Here are some tips and tricks so you can live that coastal experience to the fullest!

Double Check Your Packing List

Nothing is more disappointing than showing up to the beach and realizing that you forgot some of the essential elements that you need to have fun. Worst case scenario, you can always buy some forgotten gear at a local store – but that’s more time and money down the drain! Start with basic swimwear, like swim trunks, bikinis, and the like. Bring at least one towel per person, and appropriate beach footwear (like sandals or flip-flops). Sunscreen, foldable chairs, and at least one large umbrella are a must. Depending on what you’re planning to try, don’t forget your surfboard, snorkel, or metal detector! If you have kids, you may want to consider plastic buckets and shovels. Last but not least, bring a snack for when you get hungry.

Going to the beach has a dual purpose; you can soak up the sun… and you can also show off! You’re going to want to prepare yourself for that perfect Instagram shot of the beach’s sunset. You should select the perfect outfit that compliments your body long before the morning of. If you want to make any kind of salon appointment – for facials, manicures, pedicures, and the like – you should probably take care of that before you even leave. Basic Safety

Even on vacation, there are some basic guidelines you should follow to ensure that your time of relaxation does not become an emergency. The use of sunscreen is essential, no matter your skin color. Prolonged exposure to the sun over the course of a few hours can even result in third degree burns. Aloe vera gel for treating exactly that would be a great addition to your packing list. Keep an eye out for warning signs about riptides, sharks, jellyfish, or hidden rocks that could pose a danger just underneath the waves.

The beach can be magical. It can also be sandy, uncomfortable, or even dangerous. But if you prepare yourself with a proper packing list, take simple safety precautions, and put in the effort to beautify yourself, you’ll have a vacation to remember!
