Factors That Can Restrict Your Ability to Travel

After a year of being cooped up, the idea of traveling is exciting for most people. As you start to make your plans, don’t go too fast. Be sure you are aware of any factors that might cause you to think twice about going far away on vacation.

Health Risks

Recognize that there are a variety of health risks that can affect your ability to travel. For example, even if you are relatively healthy, know that if you are pregnant, flying will be a bit riskier for you. While pregnant, you are much likelier to develop blood clots than someone who is not pregnant.

If you are on a long flight and develop blood clots, they could get worse quickly, resulting in danger to you and your baby. Do your research about any other health conditions you have to make sure you understand the risk associated with them when traveling.

Criminal Charges

Having criminal charges could also affect your ability to travel. For most crimes that require prison time, after being released, there will be a period of time where you are required to check in with your parole officer. During this time, you are required to stay within certain geographic boundaries.

Violating these rules could have serious consequences for you down the line. If you are in a situation where you are hoping to accelerate the process of getting back to normal after being released from prison, work with a lawyer. Violent crimes are especially serious and require experienced legal help to navigate.

Vaccination History

In addition to your own health risks and prior criminal charges, know that your history of vaccinations could also play a big role in your ability to travel. Now that the world is finally starting to get back to normal after the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, travel restrictions are easing up.

But even though it is possible to fly, be prepared to present your vaccination record. If you haven’t received a vaccine for the coronavirus, it is unlikely you’ll be able to travel anywhere outside the country.

As you make travel plans, you may realize that there are certain factors that affect your ability to travel. If you are limited in how far you can go, be flexible. Even if you have to stay in town, there are probably many different activities that you could do to get out of the house and have some fun.
