Civilized South Florida Day Trips Via Brightline

If you’re planning on visiting South Florida this season, don’t limit yourself to just one city. Brightline, soon to be called Virgin Trains USA, offers frequent higher-speed, intercity rail service to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach which makes it so easy to get away for a quick day trip or overnight.

Brightline runs like the best airlines do and by 2022 it will be possible to travel via this convenient, hassle-free service all the way through to Orlando!

Check out GoBrightline.com or use their smartphone app for the easiest access to their schedules, fares, and reservations.

Business, Pleasure or Both

The location of Brightline stations makes it very easy to enjoy activity filled day trips to the hippest neighborhoods in SoFlo and completely avoid the heavy traffic of I-95. Don’t stress over getting around at your destination either — ride sharing, free-ride services and hop-on tours make for easy connections.

Stephen uses a roll aboard suitcase to easily transport catalogs and samples for day trip to his store in West Palm Beach.

I traveled along with Stephen Licata, who owns a chain of clothing stores with locations in South Florida. For over 30 years, he’s taken time every week or so to drive between Miami and Palm Beach to check on his stores. By switching to Brightline, he’s now able to use the travel time to get work done rather than focus on the road.

FYI: Brightline offers commuter passes for those who plan on frequent travel.

If you’re thinking of building Brightline/Virgin Trains USA into your South Florida transit plans, take a look at how easy it is to give up the drive.

Ride-share to the Terminal or Park in Garage

Whether you choose to take a taxi, ride-sharing, or park your car in the Brightline garage, everything is designed to be super easy and stress free. The garages are staffed with Brightline personnel to make the experience completely seamless.

Relax in the Lounge

Departure lounges are available to all passengers and are adjacent to concessions offering snacks and beverages for sale. If you are traveling in Select class, there is an extensive selection of complimentary beverages and snacks in the Select Lounge.

When your train is ready for boarding, you’ll hear an announcement directing you to the appropriate track and Brightline personnel will assist you all along the way.

Use Brightline Business and Meeting Spaces

If you’re traveling in Select travel class, you can take advantage of complimentary beverages and snacks in the Select Lounge prior to departure. There are also business services and conference rooms available at the lounge area to get some work done before boarding begins.

Recharge, Work, and Snuggle

Traveling between South Florida cities becomes more productive and enjoyable aboard Brightline. The WiFi on board is super fast and free.

Brightline trains are even pet-friendly, so what’s not to love? For more information on traveling with your pet, check the Brightline Blog

They’ve even placed pet rest areas at stations!

Use Free-Ride and/or Ride-share Upon Arrival

Freebee offers free shuttle service from Miami and Fort Lauderdale Brightline stations.

Upon arrival at Brightline stations, you should check into the free-ride services available for a quick shuttle to nearby restaurants, shops and other points of interest or you can use Uber or Lyft to your first stop and then use the free-ride services to stops in the same area.
