3 Must-Visit Holiday Season Destinations

The holiday season is a fantastic time to explore new cities and create wonderful memories with your loved ones. Traveling to beautiful destinations known for their festive decorations, world-class Christmas light displays, and fun holiday markets makes the season merrier and offers the whole family an unforgettable holiday experience. Here are three must-visit destinations during the holiday season.

Paris, France

Paris is called “The City of Light” for good reason, and never is that more apparent than at holiday time. During the season, the beautiful streets of Paris are decorated and lined with magnificent, twinkling lights that get you in the holiday mood. While you’re there, take a spin on the largest rink in the world at Le Grand Palais or whirl about the Champs de Mars located directly under the Eiffel Tower at the Christmas Market. In the evening, enjoy a crisp stroll along the Seine, sampling sweet holiday treats with a rich cup of chocolat chaud (hot chocolate).

New York, United States

New York is one of the most beautiful and visited cities during the holiday season, so you’ll want to make sure you see it all when you’re there. Ice-skate at Rockefeller Center as you gaze at New York’s most magnificent Christmas tree, and be sure to pop across the street to experience Radio City’s annual Christmas spectacular. Visit Columbus Circle in Central Park and enjoy the wonderful Christmas market. If you’re driving to the Big Apple at holiday time, take care and be cautious of other drivers. Over 90 percent of holiday travelers take cars to their destinations, which leads to an increased risk of accidents. It might be wiser to leave the car at home and not bother driving in the city. After all, most New Yorkers don’t.

London, United Kingdom

London is spectacular at Christmas time with all the holiday lights strewn about the streets and its many must-see locations celebrating the season. Be sure to visit Kew Gardens, Carnaby Street, and Oxford Street where the lights are especially beautiful. Taste the flavors of the season such as mulled wine and mince pies. Then, head over to Trafalgar Square and enjoy London’s magnificently decorated Christmas tree. For Harry Potter fans, explore the Great Hall and Gryffindor common room at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour.

No matter which amazing city you choose to enjoy this holiday season, you’ll have a wonderful time sipping cocoa, ice-skating, perusing Christmas markets and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Preparing yourself for your holiday adventure will ensure you’ll have a safe and merry season filled with light-hearted celebration.
