A hurricane warning has been issued for Hawaii’s Big Island.
Currently, Hurricane Lane is a Category 5 storm and is still hundreds of miles away from Hawaii.
The storm is to the southeast of the islands but is predicted to turn to the northwest later in the weak as it begins to weaken.

Weather forecasts show high surf, rip currents, winds, and heavy rain no matter which way the storm heads and, in light of the storm’s track and bad weather, airlines/hawaiian-adds-service-to-maui.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>Hawaiian Airlines is now offering travel waivers to travelers who would like to avoid the storm.
Guests holding tickets for travel to Hawaii between now and August 26, 2018, can make a one-time reservation change free of charge.
Tickets must have been issued prior to August 21, 2018, and scheduled between now and August 26.
New flights need to be booked for travel on or before September 9, 2018.
If new fares are more expensive, Hawaiian Airlines will waive the difference in the airfare, provided the new fare is booked in the same class of service, such as economy or first class.
Travelers also must travel to and from the same destination as previously booked.
