MORE Impacting Travel

According to the National Hurricane Center, Rosa was registering maximum sustained winds of 105 miles per hours and was located about 530 miles southwest from the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico Thursday morning.

Forecasters believe the hurricane will continue moving west before turning northwest through the weekend. Rosa is expected to intensify into at least a Category 3 storm and make landfall along the western coast of Mexico early Tuesday.

The hurricane could cause life-threatening surf and rip conditions along Mexico’s southwestern coast.

As for the potential impact of Rosa on the U.S., the National Weather Service in Flagstaff said heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected in Arizona and much of the Southwest early next week.
