On a recent Jet2 Flight to Ibiza, a pilot left the cockpit to give drunk passengers a talking-to. The flight was already 40 minutes behind, thanks to two inebriated passengers who were allegedly removed for being verbally abusive to the staff.
During his speech, he told passengers that their drunken behavior would not be tolerated, and that “if you get drunk on this flight, we’ll divert, we’ll put you off the plane and we’ll give you the bill for the diversion.”
The flight did not have to divert and arrived safely in Ibiza.
