Airlines Allow Free Flight Changes due to COVID-19

Airlines are offering change and cancellation waivers for travel booked in the month of March, with actual travel dates within the next 12 months. The most lenient policy update comes from JetBlue.

JetBlue is offering no change or cancellation fees for any fare booked (even their basic fares) for any bookings made this month, for travel until September 8, 2020.

United Airlines is allowing customers who book in the month of March to change their flights (even if booked in basic economy) without any additional fees to any date within the next 12 months.

American Airlines added a policy that matches United’s but stipulates your ticket can only be changed one time.

Southwest Airlines, has never charged for change or cancellation fees and reminds the traveling public they can cancel their flight up to 10 minutes prior to their flight for a credit to be used for future travel 12 year from the purchase date.

Discounter Spirit Airlines hasn’t changed their usual cancellation or change policy, whereas Allegiant Airlines will allow customers to make a one time change free of charge.
