American Song Makes Debut from New Orleans

The 184-American Song, the first of American Cruise Lines’ new class of modern riverboats, made its debut on an eight-day Mississippi River itinerary from New Orleans to Memphis on Oct. 6.

The vessel will sail on Mississippi River cruises throughout 2018, joining the American Pride and Queen of the West paddle-wheelers on Snake and Columbia river itineraries when its sister ship, American Harmony, enters service in 2019.

An inaugural date for American Harmony, which will operate on Mississippi River cruises along with the Queen of the Mississippi and America paddle-wheelers, has not yet been announced.

American Song is equipped with a number of generously sized lounges, which are set 40 feet above the water, and staterooms with floor-to-ceiling glass doors and balconies.

Accommodations include 900-square-foot Grand Suites with wraparound balconies. The riverboat also features a four-story, glass-enclosed atrium with a domed skylight, which serves a central meeting spot for guests. American Song is the 10th ship in the American Cruise Lines fleet.

In all, the company offers upward of 35 itineraries in New England, Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, the Mississippi River system and the Southeast.
