Delta Celebrates Decade of Support For Gnetwork360

Delta is marking its 10th anniversary as the main sponsor of an annual forum in Argentina focused on LGBT issues.

The event, Gnetwork360’s annual International Conference on LGBT Business and Tourism in Argentina, allows the airline to share and gain insights as part of an ongoing effort to deliver the best experience to all customers.

This year Delta’s codeshare partner Aerolineas Argentinas will join the conference, which will focus on women as protagonists and leaders of change.

The gathering will also provide attendees a perspective on millennials and the Asian population in addition to exploring the influence of digital media on the LGBT market, Delta said in a statement.

The LGBT sector has demonstrated tremendous growth in recent years. The United Nations World Tourism Organization estimates that LGBT travelers annually spend over $211 billion.

Delta said it has joined initiatives such as Gnetwork360 to support the movement, while also enhancing the flying experience for LGBT travelers.

“The Gnetwork360 conference provides a platform for Delta to share new trends with local and regional trade associations in the LGBT sector which we are proud to serve,” Santiago Elijovich, Delta’s General Manager—Hispanic South America, said in a statement. “Diversity and inclusion are core to Delta’s DNA and to the success of our business. We center on making each customer feel valued, which in turn has positioned us as a global leader within the LGBT community.”

The noteworthy conference has grown 770 percent since its inception, from 210 attendees to 1,700 attendees in 2017. Representatives from 16 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America are registered to attend this year’s conference, which is taking place August 21-24 at the Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires.

“Delta’s ongoing support for various initiatives in Argentina and the region has paved the way for other companies to increasingly value diversity and participate in projects that benefit the LGBT community,” Pablo De Luca, president of Gnetwork360, said in a statement. “In Latin America, when we think about an airline that is committed to diversity and inclusion, we think about Delta Air Lines.”

Delta’s longtime involvement in the conference should come as no surprise. The airline has an extensive record of leading the way on human rights, diversity and inclusion. The airline was recently awarded a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 and 2018 Human Rights Campaign “Best Places to Work” Corporate Equality Index.

In addition, for the third year straight, Delta was named a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion,” earning a top score of 100 percent on the 2018 Disability Equality Index.
