Former NFL Player Attacked at Atlanta Airport

Former National Football League cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was reportedly attacked by an employee at an Atlanta airport Tuesday night.

According to The Associated Press, Jones and a female companion were coming through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Tuesday night when ABM Industries employee Frank Ragin reportedly made a gesture toward the former NFL player.

Atlanta Police spokesman Jarius Daugherty told The AP that Jones and Ragin exchanged words before Ragin struck Jones with a closed fist. The two men exchanged blows before Jones ultimately knocked Ragin to the ground and the fight was broken up.

In the melee, Jones was left with a cut on his face and his female companion was struck in the hand, but both declined medical treatment. Daugherty revealed that Ragin was the aggressor in the fight and Jones was defending himself.

Police arrested Ragin and charged him with two counts of battery after he was discharged from the hospital due to the injuries sustained in the brawl.

Tuesday’s incident was not Jones’ first dust-up with travel industry employees. Last year, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge after he allegedly assaulted a hotel worker. The NFL suspended Jones for one game for a violation of its personal conduct policy.
