JetBlue flight crew helps French bulldog in distress with oxygen mask

Two quick-thinking JetBlue flight attendants helped save a dog on a flight from Florida to Massachusetts.

Two JetBlue flight attendants are being hailed heroes for saving a dog in distress on Thursday.

Darcy, a 3-year-old French bulldog, was on a flight from Florida to Massachusetts when her tongue began to turn blue and she was having difficulty breathing.

When the cabin crew realised the dog was not feeling well, they got some bags of ice to help cool her down.

The flight attendants also provided an oxygen mask to help Darcy breathe.

In an open letter to the airline, the dog owner, Michele, said: “I noticed that her tongue was blue and I am aware that is a sign of insufficient oxygen (Hypoxia) so I pulled her out from under the seat and placed her on my lap to cool down and help her relax as she was panicking and breathing frantically.”

Darcy’s owners credit the fast-acting flight crew for saving her life.

Following the incident JetBlue issued this statement: “We all want to make sure everyone has a safe and comfortable fight, including those with four legs. We’re thankful for our crew’s quick thinking and glad everyone involved was breathing easier when the plane landed in Worcester.”
