After initially upsetting the Chinese government by issuing a customer satisfaction survey that listed Tibet as a separate and distinct nation alongside Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the Marriott Rewards Twitter account was seen ‘liking’ a tweet from Friends of Tibet.
The Chinese government shut down Marriott’s Chinese website and mobile app in response to the initial incident.
