Pandemic Travel: Tips for December 2020

We all miss traveling. It has been very hard during the pandemic. But don’t fret as travel is still possible. With the holidays approaching fast, travel is a big deal. Many will be traveling during this month to visit their families for the holidays, and many are scared to do so.

What to Pack?

Always pack light wherever you travel. It’s best to take one bag, two if necessary. You want one as a carry-on. When you pack, just take the essentials. This is very important, especially during a pandemic. Pack enough clothes to last the entire time wherever you go. Take your toothbrush, toothpaste, and some deodorant. If you have any medicine or anything else important then make some room. Take what you need.

Also, don’t forget to bring a mask, you must wear one when you are at the airport and on the plane. So make sure you pack some extra masks just in case you lose one, or you need to clean them. Either way, be ready to wear a mask for most of your trip.

Airports

Many airports have fewer people traveling. So they are not as packed, especially since international travel is not a high priority right now. But many still go, so be prepared for delays and lines. If people are not following the rules with masks or distancing, that can cause a delay. Be ready, just in case. The best way to avoid becoming sick is to wear a mask and stay at least six feet away from people. But even at an airport, this can be not easy to do.

Even though social distancing rules are in place, they are not always enforced. On planes, you won’t always have a seat between you and another person. They can be tightly packed. Just wear your mask for the whole time to help avoid getting sick. Try to distance yourself when you can, but remember you won’t always do so. Try your best, and travel safely.

Hotels

During the pandemic, hotels have taken extra precautions to make sure hotel rooms are clean. But it does not hurt to take matters into your own hands. It won’t hurt to bring some cleaning products, like disinfectant wipes. Once in your room, you should wipe everything down; even though it may be clean already, it will make you feel better.

You may not know how clean a hotel can be, but you can always take precautions to make you and your travels safer.

Rental Car

Need to take a rental car? Well, many of these car rental companies have taken the proper steps during the pandemic to keep their cars clean. But remember that you will never know for sure. So just like a hotel room, grab some disinfectant wipes and get to cleaning. This will make sure the car is clean, and you will have your mind put at ease.

At the End of the Day

If you are traveling during the pandemic, take some time to prepare yourself. Take the time to pack your essentials and plenty of masks. Try to practice social distancing when you can. Clean what you can, when you can. Try your best to follow these tips. This will make your travels easier and make you feel better. Once you are ready to travel, you will be ready to face this pandemic head-on.
