Royal Sonesta Lights Up NOLA for the Holidays

It’s going to be a “Royal Snownesta” this year in New Orleans.

That’s right, the Royal Sonesta New Orleans is going all out for this special season with elaborate holiday decor and its famous glittering arcade of real Christmas trees.

And it’s not just decor, Royal Sonesta is welcoming holiday travelers with a roster of festive events for all ages that will kick off with its annual Lighting of the Balconies.

“Royal Sonesta New Orleans strives each year to provide local guests and travelers an ideal way to experience a truly unique holiday getaway, one unlike any other while providing unexpected amazing moments and creating lasting holiday memories,” said Colleen Lemley, field marketing manager, Royal Sonesta New Orleans.

Light Up the Holidays at Royal Sonesta

The Lighting of the Balconies is the hotel’s signature holiday event. Dazzling lights twinkle all along the property’s wrought-iron balconies, both inside the courtyard and throughout the building’s exterior levels.

Families won’t want to miss the Royal Sonesta Teddy Bear Tea events. Children and their parents can visit the Magical Royal Kingdom, located inside the hotel’s Grand Ballroom.

Families can sing along with Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer, the Sugarplum Fairy and Marching Toy Soldiers; take part in story time with Mrs. Claus; and, perhaps, a visit from Santa is in the cards.

This year, the hotel is also adding a special daddy and daughter tea time to the event.

The holidays will truly come alive through the sound of the seasons ringing through the main lobby of the Royal Sonesta. Guests of the hotel will also be able to enjoy special seasonal musical performances beginning on December 3, 2018. New Orleans-area elementary and high school choirs are invited to spread holiday cheer each weekday at noon.

Skip the Meal Planning and Check-In for a Feast

Why not take a break from the kitchen? Those looking for a holiday feast can head to Royal Sonesta’s Restaurant R’evolution. Allow the hotel’s talented culinary team to recreate a special holiday meal that brings to life the region’s culinary past with the annual celebration of Louisiana’s holiday tradition, Reveillon.

A classic Reveillon menu will be served on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and a Reveillon prix fixe dinner and brunch menu option will be available throughout the month of December.
