Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) announced Friday it is expanding its flight offerings to the United States for travelers in winter 2018.
Bookings for the additional services opened Friday, and the new winter flight schedule will feature journeys to Scandinavia from several key hub markets including, Miami, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles.
Starting on December 10, SAS will offer daily direct departures from Miami to Scandinavia, including three flights a week to Copenhagen, two to Stockholm and two to Oslo. The carrier will also add a Wednesday flight from Washington, D.C. to Scandinavia.

“As Scandinavia’s leading airline, it is integral that we continue to apply customer feedback in an ongoing effort to elevate our offerings and provide ease of travel,” SAS general manager Max Knagge said in a statement. “Daily departures from Miami and Washington, and improved schedules from LAX is driven by SAS’s efforts to listen to our travelers and adapt to changing market needs.”
In addition to the new service, SAS will replace its Wednesday flights from Los Angeles to Stockholm with a weekly flight on Sundays starting December 16 in order to meet the significant demand for weekend service.
For travelers looking to visit Scandinavia, SAS flies to the U.S. via seven gateways, including New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Miami, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
