Summer Package Combines Best of Boston and Nantucket

The island community of Nantucket is a popular retreat for summer visitors. For arrivals traveling from origins further afield than the Eastern Seaboard, it’s often necessary to include overnight stays at Boston en route due to schedules, and many travelers take the opportunity to build out larger, regional itineraries.

Nantucket’s The White Elephant, and Mandarin Oriental, Boston, realize this trend, and have partnered to create a package that shares the best of both popular New England summer destinations. In addition to overnight accommodations, the packages include some of the most popular experiences for summer visitors.

Guests booking the Two if by Land, Three if by Sea package will enjoy two nights in Boston’s fashionable Back Bay neighborhood. Guests will experience the best big city amenities like the New England Retreat therapy at the hotel’s spa, or opulent breakfasts of Avocado Tartine or Lobster Scramble at Bar Boulud. To outfit for an island getaway, guests will also enjoy a gift card and personal shopping experience at a nearby Lily Pulitzer boutique.

When not luxuriating at the hotel, visitors can explore the nearby Boston Public Library or Museum of Fine Arts, stroll among the brownstone façades of Marlborough Street, or root for the home team at Fenway Park, where one of the few remaining manually-operated scoreboards in baseball keeps operators busy.

Then, it’s on to Nantucket and The White Elephant for three nights in seaside accommodations. Here, the package includes a sunset sail and island tour onboard the sailing sloop Endeavor, two tickets to the popular Whaling Museum, and a three-course dinner with wine pairings at the hotel’s waterfront steak and seafood restaurant Brant Grill.

MORE Hotel & Resort

The White Elephant is known for extensive guest amenities, from coffee and mini pastries in the mornings for early risers to afternoon port and cheese in the library. Guests will also enjoy a library of books and DVDs, daily newspaper, and beach chairs with towels and umbrellas, all without a resort fee.

Tooling around Nantucket is easy with complimentary bicycle rentals at the hotel for guests in most room categories, while those booking the hotel’s top suite will receive the keys to a 2019 BMW for use while in residence. The hotel also operates a courtesy car in the evenings for in-town drop-off and shuttles throughout the day to the beach and ferries.

The package is available through November 2, and must be booked at least seven days in advance of arrival. Rates start at $3,398 for two guests. Package rates do not include transportation between Boston and Nantucket, but concierge teams at either hotel can make arrangements for travel and a host of other logistical needs prior to guest arrival.
