Budget Airline Breeze Airways Starts on May 27th With Their $39 Flights

Airline travel numbers are now getting closer to 2019’s numbers. The Transport Security Administration records millions of passengers in its checkpoints daily since Spring Break. On May 23, TSA recorded 1.8 million air passengers. It was the greatest number of fliers since the pandemic started. And with rising travel demand, airlines are looking for ways to get people to travel.

The US airline industry saw several new players recently. But despite the entry of new players, there’s plenty of room for everyone as travel demand picks up. Breeze Airways is one of the new discount airlines offering rock bottom prices to budget-strapped travelers. The airline starts its operations on May 27th with tickets starting at $39. They are offering flights from 16 different cities plus 39 different routes.

Breeze Airways: Technology with Kindness

Breeze Airways is the brainchild of JetBlue founder David Neelman. This makes the airline the fifth he started after Azul, JetBlue, WestJet, and Morris Air.

According to the company, they offer low-cost flights and merge “technology with kindness”. In a statement, the company said that “A staggering 95% of Breeze routes currently have no airline serving them nonstop”. But what makes the budget airline stand out is that it offers no change or cancellation fees and 24 months of reusable flight credit. They are also offering an easy-to-use app that makes the booking process simple.

Neelman said that they can get passengers to locations half the time “but also half the price”. Breeze is going to first operate via Tampa, FL; Charleston, SC; Norfolk, VA; and New Orleans.  The airline will update its website through July 2021 for the rest of its destinations.

Though domestic travel is back in the US, international travel remains low. It’s mostly due to restrictions and COVID situations in different countries. The US included most of the countries in its highest alert level to prevent the entry of new variants.
