Airport Parking Company Charges for Secure Parking That… Isn’t

A parking company offering services to travelers at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) has been charging customers for secure facilities while placing vehicles on the side of a road. Jyoti Kaushal, the owner of Airtime Parking, has declined to comment to the Daily Mail but her brother states the company isn’t doing anything wrong.

It has been revealed that a parking company that offers its services to travelers at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) has been charging customers for secure parking while merely placing vehicles on the side of the road, the Daily Mail reports.

Airtime Parking is apparently leaving customers’ vehicles in this unsecured, open location where they are at risk of theft. In addition to this, it is reported that the road on which the cars are parked is frequently used by large trucks, something that could cause damage to vehicles.

Upon further investigation, the outlet also observes that some cars have been parked so that they overhang into the road, further increasing their risk of damage.

One local worker, who has observed the cars parked on the side of the road, offered their comments to the outlet, saying, “The cars are just dumped here and do not move for weeks. The people who pay to have their car left in a secure location are being conned. The road is not secure…If I had paid to have my car locked in a secure area I’d be horrified and feel ripped off.”

Airtime advertises that its parking facilities have secure fencing and are monitored 24/7. The company is owned by Jyoti Kaushal, who declined to offer comment to the outlet.

However, Jyoti’s brother Sonny is Airtime’s manager and has refuted any claims that he has misled customers with the company’s parking practices.

According to the outlet, Sonny has said that the cars were being left on the roadside as a temporary measure until a more secure space became available.

“I am doing nothing wrong. Are the cars illegally parked? The cars are perfectly safe in the road. I am just making space for them,” he explained.
