WHY IT RATES: Travel agents with clients who fly with American Airlines will be hearing more about Julie Rath and the impact she will have on the carrier’s customers.—Donald Wood, Breaking News Senior Writer.
American Airlines announced Thursday that Julie Rath, managing director – Service Recovery, has been named vice president – Customer Planning. Julie will report to Kerry Philipovitch, senior vice president – Customer Experience, and succeeds Tim Lindemann who announced his retirement earlier this year.
In this role, Rath will oversee American’s many teams supporting both customers and frontline team members, including Customer Planning and Analysis and Customer Experience Planning, as well as American’s training, Premium Customer Services and Service Recovery teams.
“Julie’s in-depth understanding of our Customer Planning team, vast industry and operational experience and exemplary leadership skills have prepared her for this important role,” said Philipovitch. “Julie’s dedication to her teams, strong commitment to delivering results and unwavering optimism make her a true asset to our leadership team. I know that she will continue the great work Tim leaves behind and will carry our team into the future.”
Rath joined American in 2016 and brings nearly three decades of industry experience to her new position. She earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College and a master’s in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
