Delta to Bring More Options to Seattle Trans-Pacific Flights This Summer

WHY IT RATES: Travel agents and advisors working with clients who fly trans-Pacific routes should be taking note of the chances Delta is implementing on flights to key destinations in the East.—Donald Wood, Breaking News Senior Writer.

More options, choice and comfort are on the way for Delta customers traveling to and from top Asian destinations at its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport hub beginning July 1.

“As Seattle’s largest global airline, Delta will nearly double the premium seat offerings to both local and connecting customers in our top Asian markets by the end of this summer, with additional services to come,” said Glen Hauenstein, Delta’s President. “It’s our latest step as we continually expand and enhance our Seattle hub to provide customers with a world-class experience as they travel.”

Customers will begin to see these expanded products on Seattle flights this summer:

—Shanghai effective July 1

—Seoul-Incheon effective Aug. 1

—Tokyo-Narita effective Aug. 31

Delta SkyMiles members have the ability to upgrade their travel using their miles, even after they initially book a flight. Miles can be used to purchase an upgrade to a Delta One Suite, Delta Premium Select or Delta Comfort + on the new Seattle trans-Pacific flights. Customers can use delta.com or the Fly Delta app.
