Don’t Fall for This Airport Prank

As if air travel wasn’t stressful enough?

Now, desperate travelers have become the victims of pranksters.

MORE Airlines & Airports

According to a report in the New York Post, stickers are posing as legitimate outlets, tricking passengers into thinking there’s a free outlet where they can score a last-minute charge for their electronic devices before a flight.

The stickers, which are available on Amazon and Ebay, look very realistic—representing a beat-up-looking socket. Twitter user @WorldWise001 posted a photo of the fake outlets, saying people should be considerate.

“Hello everyone remember that you have powers and please only use those powers for good and don’t forget to be nice to each other,” says a follow-up the tweet.

Alish Erman was a little more blunt on the social media platform.

“Will the person who’s putting fake outlet stickers all over the airport please die already thanks,” said @alishisthebest.

Needless to say, travelers are not pleased by the stunt.

If this is something you might fall for or would outage you, perhaps you should invest in reliable smart luggage.

That way instead of wandering around and looking for an outlet, you can charge your electronics wherever you choose to sit.

Just don’t sit on the floor. Unless you plan to do yoga at the airport.
