A flight carrying the United States’ first lady Melania Trump was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday after smoke was reported inside the cabin of the plane.

According to The Associated Press, Trump’s flight took off from Joint Base Andrews near Washington D.C. en route to Philadelphia when smoke filled the cabin around 10 minutes into the journey.
As passengers were handed damp washcloths to put over their mouths, members of Trump’s Secret Service group rushed to the front of the Boeing C-32A. The pilot called for the plane to turn around and it returned to dc.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>Joint Base Andrews.
Trump’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told The AP that “everyone is fine and everyone is safe.”
The first lady was heading to Philadelphia for a visit to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she was scheduled to tour a neonatal intensive care nursery and speak at a conference about infants suffering from opiate withdrawal.
