JetBlue Plane Struck by Truck Carrying Toilet Waste

A JetBlue flight preparing to take off from a New York City airport was delayed Saturday after the plane was struck by a truck carrying toilet waste.

According to the New York Daily News, JetBlue Flight 97 was preparing to take off from John F. Kennedy International Airport for a trip to Denver International Airport when the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. local time.

Passengers had loaded onto the flight from JFK’s Terminal 5 when the truck struck the plane and became stuck underneath. Travelers were deplaned as emergency crews worked to dislodge the toilet waste vehicle.

The male driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash, and none of the passengers on the flight reported any injuries. Following the incident, the JetBlue passengers were switched to a different aircraft and flew to Denver after an extended delay.

A similar incident took place in October 2018 when a fuel truck hit the wing of an American Airlines plane preparing to fly from a New York airport to Miami with almost 200 people onboard.
