Amtrak Promotes National 4-Day Sale for Seniors 65 and Older

WHY IT RATES: For travel agents working with senior citizens, the Amtrak deal offers an affordable alternative to flying.—Donald Wood, Breaking News Senior Writer.

MORE Car Rental & Rail

Just in time to travel to their favorite destinations prior this fall, customers who qualify for a senior rate (65 and older) are eligible to save 30 percent off their Amtrak travel on most trains throughout the country.

The sale is valid for travel from Wednesday, September 5 to Thursday, November 15 with no blackout dates. The sale runs exclusively on Amtrak.com for booking between Tuesday, August 21 and Friday, August 24.

For great savings, please use promo code “V101” and select the passenger type “E” when purchasing.

Customers can sit in comfort, instead of traffic, and save by avoiding the additional costs of driving, parking, tolls and gas. They can also enjoy large spacious seats, no middle seats, ample legroom, the freedom to move around, Wi-Fi on most train services and a generous baggage policy.

Valid proof of age is required for the discount and onboard the train. One child, age 2-12, may accompany each adult at half the typical adult fee. Space is limited, and prices are not available on all trains at all times. Reservations must be made within the valid booking dates between August 21 and August 24, 2018. Other restrictions apply.

For more information, reach out to your local travel agent.
