Riviera River Cruises Expands Departures for Solo Travelers in 2019

UK river cruise operator Riviera River Cruises has added cruises exclusively for solo travelers in 2019. Two departures in the spring and two in the fall will offer Danube, Rhône and Douro river itineraries.

The line debuted its solo cruises this year with The Blue Danube River Cruise for Solo Travelers and The Burgundy, River Rhône & Provence River Cruise for Solo Travelers. The line will launch two new vessels in 2019, the MS George Elliott and MS William Wordsworth.

“These exclusive departures for solo travelers offer the opportunity to experience a European river cruise on a five-star ship with like-minded travelers, without paying a single supplement for any cabin or suite across the entire ship,” said Jana Tvedt, Riviera River Cruises’ US vice president. “And in 2019, we’re offering them in both spring and fall, which allows guests to enjoy destinations without contending with summer crowds.”

Riviera’s lineup of solo cruises for 2019 includes The Douro, Porto & Salamanca River Cruise for Solo Travelers. The eight-day cruise departs March 31, 2019.

Departures of the eight-day Blue Danube River Cruise for Solo Travelers take place on April 1 and Oct. 28, 2019. And, The Burgundy, the River Rhône & Provence River Cruise for Solo Travelers departs on Oct. 31, 2019.

In addition to the dedicated solo cruise dates, a limited number of staterooms are available single-supplement-free on every departure.
