Delta Employee, Wife Charged With Smuggling Cash

An employee of Delta Air Lines and his wife have been charged with smuggling cash through the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to reports.

Bubacarr Drammeh, an employee of Delta Global services, and his wife, Matako Drammeh, allegedly transported hundreds of thousands of dollars to California according to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, Byung J. “BJay” Pak.

According to the charges, the couple smuggled cash through the airlines” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>airport’s employee security checkpoints from November of 2016 to September 2017 when Bubacarr Drammeh was caught attempting to bring more than $140,000 in cash through an employee security checkpoint on September 2, 2017.

The couple allegedly took more than 50 trips to California over the nearly one-year span of time.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says that the couple “exploited Bubacarr Drammeh’s status as an airline employee to evade airport security screenings.”

After an airport employee at the checkpoint found the cash, Drammeh allegedly offered the screener $8,000 in cash to not report him to authorities.

The Drammeh’s are charged with allegedly breaching airlines/stunning-details-of-tsa-s-quiet-skies-program-revealed.html” target=”_self” rel=”nofollow”>airport security and bribing airport employees.

This is just the latest evidence that makes it clear trying to smuggle things in an airport is not a good idea, and suggest that maybe doing away with security screenings is not a smart move.
